Under his direction, the New York Office has grown from a one-man operation to one that employs over seventy five professionals. Bennie has more than thirty years of professional accounting experience, supervising management consulting and audit services for a wide range of small and emerging business clients, local government entities, and real estate firms. His keen business advice has helped to reduce costs and improve management operations. Bennie retired from public practice and now is president of Tondah Consulting Group, with its headquarters in Rutherford, New Jersey. Bennie is a graduate of Bernard M. Baruch College and earned his MBA from Iona College. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New Jersey and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the National Association of Black Accountants’ Division of Firms. He is Director-at-Large of the Board of the NYSSCPA. He was a member of the Business Advisory Council of George Washington University, The Accounting Education Sub-committee for the AICPA, and the Accounting Club’s Board of Governors and Advisory Board. Bennie was recently appointed by New Jersey Governor, James E. McGreevey, to serve on the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy in recognition of his talent and abilities. Bennie is the first African-American to hold this post. Bennie also has a long and impressive record of service to various civic organizations, such as the New York City Partnership and Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Harlem Business Alliance and One Hundred Black Men, Inc. He provides consistent support to health- and education-related groups such as the March of Dimes, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and Ronald McDonald House, and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). |
